On the 16th, 17th, and 18th February 2024, two members of Red Cuthbert Morris went to the Inter Varsity Folk Dance Festival (IVFDF) held at York University. We took part in many daytime workshops and evening folk dances. We tried British Contra dancing and Niggun singing (Jewish traditional singing without words or instruments) for the very first time.
We both attended workshops on both Border Morris led by Chris Broan, and Cotswold Morris led by Acorn Morris. On the Saturday afternoon we followed a Morris tour in York City centre where we witnessed six Morris sides of different traditions dancing. We had great fun and used lots of energy.
