The Red Cuthbert Ale was everything we hoped it would be: lively, welcoming, and full of the kind of energy that only comes when lots of morris sides gather to celebrate together. From the first clash of sticks to the last wave handkerchiefs, the evening was a joyful display of morris dancing in its many forms.
Border sides brought their bold rhythms and painted faces, while Cotswold teams showcased the elegance of their steps and figures. Between dances, the music carried on, with fiddles, melodeons, and voices weaving together to keep the spirit high. The ale flowed, the laughter echoed, and there was the unmistakeable reminder that these traditions are not relics of the past, but living, breathing expressions of community.
The highlights video shows the full experience. The dances, the music, the food, and the friendships all came together to create something memorable. A huge thank‑you to everyone who brought their energy and talents to the night, you made it what it was. Here’s looking forward to the next ale!
